Inventive Tab 10mg Tablets

Dimemorphan is a cough suppressant (antitussive). It is not a narcotic. It helps calm a troublesome cough.

It is used to relieve cough that comes with:

• upper respiratory tract infections such as colds
• acute bronchitis
• pneumonia

Take it exactly as your doctor or pharmacist tells you. The dose depends on age and symptoms.

• The daily amount is usually split into three doses through the day.
• If you have the powder (dry syrup) form, dissolve it just before taking it and use it straight away.
• Older people often need a lower dose.
• If you are not sure what to do about a missed dose, ask your pharmacist. Do not take extra to make up for it.

Possible side effects include:

• drowsiness, dizziness, headache or a heavy head
• weakness or a general unwell feeling
• dry mouth, loss of appetite, feeling sick, being sick or diarrhoea
• fast heartbeat, palpitations or facial flushing

Stop taking it and contact your doctor if you have:

• a rash or other signs of an allergic reaction
• any unusual or worrying symptoms

Check with your doctor or pharmacist before taking it if you:

• have diabetes or might have diabetes, as it can slightly affect blood sugar control
• are pregnant or might be pregnant (it should only be used if the benefit outweighs the risk)
• are breastfeeding
• are older, as your body may handle medicines more slowly
• have had an allergic reaction to any medicine

Store at room temperature. After opening the outer box, protect the medicine from moisture.

Drowsiness: it can make you sleepy or dizzy. If this happens, do not drive or use machines.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding: talk to your doctor first.

Diabetes: keep an eye on your blood sugar and tell your doctor about any changes.
