Froben Gel 1g Gel

Flurbiprofen is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). As a medicated plaster (patch) on the skin, it relieves pain and swelling in the area underneath.

It is used for muscle, joint and tendon problems such as:

• sore muscles and pain after injuries
• arthritis and painful shoulder
• tendon and tendon-sheath inflammation, and tennis elbow

Use it exactly as your doctor or pharmacist tells you, and do not use it more often than the pack says.

• Apply one plaster to the painful area, up to twice a day as needed. Each plaster works for about 12 hours.
• Do not put it on broken or irritated skin, or near the eyes, mouth, nose or genitals.
• Do not cover it with an airtight bandage or dressing, as this can increase side effects.
• Do not use other pain-relief creams or gels on the same area.
• The plasters are not waterproof.
• Seal used plasters in a bag before throwing them away.

The most common side effect is mild redness or irritation where the plaster was applied. This usually fades. If it is bothersome, lasts or gets worse, stop using it and ask a pharmacist or doctor.

Stop using it and get medical help straight away if you have:

• swelling of the face, eyes, lips or tongue, or difficulty breathing
• an itchy rash spreading over the body
• itching, swelling or blistering of the treated skin after it has been in the sun

Do not use it if you:

• are allergic to flurbiprofen or any of the ingredients
• have, or have had, asthma brought on by aspirin or other NSAIDs

Check with your doctor or pharmacist before using it if you:

• are allergic to other NSAIDs, sunscreens or perfumes
• have had skin reactions to sunlight before
• are pregnant, planning a pregnancy or breastfeeding

Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, out of the reach of children.

Sunlight: keep the treated area out of the sun as much as possible.

See a doctor if the pain does not improve, or gets worse, after 7 days.

If you use more than recommended, get medical advice promptly.
