Panadol CF 500mg/30mg/2mg Tablets

This combination of paracetamol, pseudoephedrine and chlorpheniramine (also called chlorphenamine) eases several cold, flu and hay fever symptoms at once.

• Paracetamol relieves pain such as headache and sore throat and lowers a high temperature.
• Pseudoephedrine is a decongestant that reduces swelling inside the nose so you can breathe more easily.
• Chlorpheniramine is an antihistamine that reduces sneezing, a runny nose and itchy, watery eyes.

Take it exactly as the pack, your doctor or your pharmacist tells you, and only for a short time.

• Leave enough time between doses and never take more than the pack allows in 24 hours.
• Do not take any other medicine that contains paracetamol, a decongestant or an antihistamine at the same time. Many cold and flu products do.
• If you miss a dose, just take the next one when needed. Never take two doses together.
• See a doctor if your symptoms get worse or do not improve.

Common side effects include:

• Drowsiness, dizziness or trouble concentrating
• Dry mouth, headache or feeling sick
• Feeling nervous or restless, or trouble sleeping
• Blurred vision

Get medical help straight away if you have:

• Swelling of the face, lips, tongue or throat, or trouble breathing
• A fast or pounding heartbeat, or a sudden severe headache
• Sudden changes in vision, or a fit
• A rash with fever and blisters or pus-filled spots
• Yellow skin or eyes, or difficulty passing urine

Check with your doctor or pharmacist before taking it if you:

• Have high blood pressure, heart disease, diabetes or an overactive thyroid
• Have glaucoma, an enlarged prostate or trouble passing urine
• Have liver or kidney problems, or drink a lot of alcohol
• Have epilepsy or asthma
• Have taken an MAOI antidepressant in the last 14 days, or take other antidepressants, beta blockers, digoxin or warfarin
• Are pregnant or breastfeeding (pseudoephedrine is not usually recommended)
• Are buying it for a child or a frail older person

Store as the pack directs and keep out of the sight and reach of children.

Taking too much paracetamol can cause serious liver damage, even if you feel well. Get urgent medical advice if you take more than the recommended amount. This medicine can make you sleepy: do not drive or use machines if affected, and avoid alcohol. Do not give it to young children unless a doctor advises it.
