Onseron Syrup 4mg Syrup

Ondansetron is an anti-sickness medicine. It blocks serotonin, a natural chemical in the body that can trigger feeling and being sick.

It is used to prevent nausea and vomiting caused by:

• chemotherapy
• radiotherapy
• surgery

Take it exactly as your doctor or pharmacist tells you. The first dose is usually given before your treatment starts.

• For syrup or liquid, measure each dose with the measuring spoon or syringe supplied, not a kitchen spoon.
• Keep to your normal diet unless your doctor says otherwise.
• If you miss a dose, take it when you remember unless the next dose is nearly due. Do not take a double dose.

Common side effects include:

• headache
• constipation
• tiredness, sleepiness or weakness
• chills

Get medical help straight away if you have:

• a fast, slow or irregular heartbeat, chest pain, dizziness or fainting
• blurred vision or loss of vision
• agitation, confusion, fever, sweating, stiff or twitching muscles, or loss of coordination
• rash, hives, swelling of the face, lips, tongue or throat, or trouble breathing or swallowing

Check with your doctor or pharmacist before taking it if you:

• or a family member have long QT syndrome or another heart rhythm problem
• have heart failure or liver disease
• have low potassium or magnesium in your blood
• take any other medicines, supplements or herbal remedies, as some should not be combined with ondansetron
• are pregnant, planning a pregnancy or breastfeeding

Store the liquid upright at room temperature, away from light, heat and moisture (not in the bathroom), tightly closed and out of reach of children.

Heart rhythm: ondansetron can affect heart rhythm, especially in people with heart problems or low salts in the blood.

Rare serious reaction: get help straight away if you feel agitated, hot, sweaty, shaky or confused, or have hallucinations.

Pregnancy: speak to your doctor if you are pregnant or become pregnant while taking it.
