Gravinate 50mg Tablets

Dimenhydrinate is used to prevent and treat feeling sick, being sick and dizziness caused by motion sickness, such as travel sickness in a car, boat or plane.

It is an anti-sickness medicine (antiemetic).

Take dimenhydrinate exactly as the label, your doctor or pharmacist tells you.

• To prevent travel sickness, take the first dose 30 to 60 minutes before the journey or activity starts.
• Do not take more than the maximum stated for a 24-hour period.
• Children's doses depend on age; do not give it to children under 2 unless a doctor advises it.

The most common side effect is:

• marked drowsiness or sleepiness

Get medical help straight away if:

• someone has taken too much, especially a child

Check with your doctor or pharmacist before taking it if you:

• have glaucoma
• have a breathing problem such as emphysema or chronic bronchitis
• have trouble passing urine because of an enlarged prostate
• take sedatives, sleeping tablets or tranquillisers
• are pregnant or breastfeeding

Store at room temperature (about 25°C), protect from moisture, and keep out of the reach of children.

Drowsiness and driving: dimenhydrinate can make you very drowsy. Take care when driving or using machines, and do not drive if you feel sleepy.

Alcohol: avoid alcohol. Alcohol, sedatives and tranquillisers can increase drowsiness.

Overdose: if too much has been taken, get medical help or contact a poison centre straight away.
