Mirabet Tablet 25mg Tablets

Mirabegron relaxes the bladder muscle so the bladder can hold more urine. It is used for symptoms of an overactive bladder, such as:

• needing to pee suddenly and urgently
• needing to pee often
• leaking urine (urge incontinence)

It eases symptoms but does not cure the condition. It may take 8 weeks or more to feel the full benefit.

Take mirabegron exactly as your doctor or pharmacist tells you, once a day at about the same time.

• Adults can take it with or without food.
• Swallow the tablet whole with water. Do not split, chew or crush it, as it is a slow-release tablet.
• If you miss a dose and it is less than 12 hours late, take it when you remember. If more than 12 hours have passed, skip it and take the next dose as normal. Never take a double dose.
• Keep taking it even if you feel well, unless your doctor tells you to stop.

Common side effects include:

• headache, dizziness
• dry mouth, constipation
• back or joint pain
• difficulty emptying the bladder or a weak stream

Get medical help straight away if you have:

• swelling of the face, lips, tongue or throat, or trouble breathing or swallowing
• hives, rash or itching
• painful, difficult or very frequent urination, or you cannot pass urine
• a fast or pounding heartbeat

Check with your doctor or pharmacist before taking it if you:

• have high blood pressure
• have a blockage at the bladder outlet, or trouble emptying your bladder
• have kidney or liver problems
• take other medicines for an overactive bladder, or any other prescription or herbal medicines
• are pregnant, planning a pregnancy or breastfeeding

Store at room temperature, away from heat and moisture (not in the bathroom), in the original tightly closed container and out of the reach of children.

Blood pressure: mirabegron can raise blood pressure. Your doctor will check it regularly.

Urine retention: tell your doctor quickly if you find it hard to pass urine, especially if you also take solifenacin.
