Lubrisol 3mg Drops

Hypromellose eye drops act as artificial tears. They add moisture to the surface of the eye and help relieve dry eye symptoms such as grittiness, burning and discomfort.

They can help dryness linked to:

• screen use or blinking less often
• dry, windy or polluted air
• some medical treatments

They can also be used to wet hard contact lenses and lubricate artificial eyes.

Use it as the label, your doctor or pharmacist tells you.

• Wash your hands. Tilt your head back, gently pull down the lower lid and squeeze a drop in, then blink.
• Do not let the dropper tip touch your eye or anything else.
• If you use another eye drop, wait 5 to 15 minutes between them.
• If you miss a dose, use it when you remember unless the next is nearly due. Do not use extra to catch up.

Some people get brief side effects, such as:

• blurred vision just after use
• stinging, irritation or a feeling of something in the eye
• eye redness

These should pass quickly.

Stop using it and see a doctor straight away if you have:

• eye pain or a headache
• changes in your vision
• irritation or redness that continues or gets worse

Do not use it if you are allergic to hypromellose or any other ingredient.

Check with your doctor or pharmacist before using it if you:

• wear soft contact lenses (many drops contain the preservative benzalkonium chloride)
• have an eye infection or damage to the surface of the eye
• are pregnant or breastfeeding

Store below 25°C with the cap tightly closed, out of the reach of children. Throw the bottle away 4 weeks after opening.

Contact lenses: remove them before using preserved drops and wait 15 minutes before putting them back in.

Driving: wait until any blurred vision clears before driving or using machines.

Symptoms not improving: see a doctor if your eyes do not get better or get worse.
