Hipro HC Ear Drops 2/10mg Drops

These ear drops combine two medicines to treat bacterial infections of the outer ear canal (otitis externa, sometimes called swimmer's ear).

• Ciprofloxacin is an antibiotic that kills the bacteria causing the infection.
• Hydrocortisone is a mild steroid that reduces the swelling, redness and itching that come with the infection.

Use the drops exactly as your doctor or pharmacist tells you. They are for the ear only.

• Shake the bottle well, then warm it in your hand for 1 to 2 minutes. Cold drops can make you dizzy.
• Lie down with the affected ear facing up, put in the drops, and stay in that position for about a minute.
• Do not let the dropper tip touch the ear, fingers or anything else.
• Use the drops for the whole course your doctor prescribes, then throw away any left over.

Side effects are usually mild and include:

• Headache
• Itching, redness or a blocked feeling in the ear
• Dizziness

Stop using it and get medical help straight away if you have:

• A skin rash, hives, or swelling of the face, lips or throat
• Trouble breathing
• Hearing loss or worsening ear pain

Do not use these drops if you:

• Have or might have a hole in your eardrum
• Have a viral ear infection, such as chickenpox or cold sores in the ear
• Are allergic to ciprofloxacin, other quinolone antibiotics or hydrocortisone

Check with your doctor or pharmacist first if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, if you have a latex allergy, or if the drops are for a child under 1 year.

Store at room temperature (below 30°C), protect from light and do not freeze. Keep out of the reach of children.

Not for use in the eyes and not for injection. Using it for a long time can allow fungus or other germs to grow. See your doctor if the infection has not improved after a week.
