Dolact Tablet 50mg/200mcg Tablets

Diclofenac and misoprostol tablets are used for the pain and swelling of rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis in people at risk of stomach problems.

• Diclofenac is an anti-inflammatory painkiller (NSAID). NSAIDs can lower the stomach's natural protective substances (prostaglandins), which can lead to ulcers.
• Misoprostol is very similar to these prostaglandins and helps protect the stomach lining.

Take it exactly as your doctor tells you.

• Swallow the tablets whole with a drink of water. Do not chew them.
• Take them during or after a meal. This also lowers the chance of diarrhoea.
• If you need an antacid, avoid ones containing magnesium. Ask your pharmacist.
• If you miss a dose, take it when you remember. Never take a double dose.

It is for adults only.

Very common side effects include stomach pain, diarrhoea, feeling sick and indigestion. Tell your doctor if diarrhoea is severe or does not stop.

Stop taking it and get medical help straight away if you have:

• chest pain, or weakness of one side of the body or slurred speech
• black or bloody stools, vomiting blood or severe stomach pain
• swelling of the face, wheezing or trouble breathing
• blistering, peeling skin or a widespread rash
• yellow skin or eyes, or fever, chills and sore throat
• stiff neck with headache, fever and vomiting

Do not take it if you:

• are pregnant or trying to get pregnant
• have a stomach ulcer or bleeding now
• are allergic to aspirin, ibuprofen or other NSAIDs
• have heart disease, a past stroke, circulation problems, or severe kidney or liver failure

Check with your doctor if you have asthma, Crohn's or colitis, high blood pressure, diabetes, bleed easily, are over 65, or take blood thinners, steroids or SSRIs.

Store below 25°C in the original package, out of the sight and reach of children.

Pregnancy: never take it while pregnant. Misoprostol can cause miscarriage, early birth and birth defects. Make sure you are not pregnant before starting, and use reliable contraception if you could become pregnant.

Breastfeeding: do not use it.

Heart: there is a small extra risk of heart attack or stroke.

Alcohol: drinking raises the risk of stomach bleeding.

Driving: do not drive if you feel dizzy or drowsy.
