Wrzol Eye Drop 1/0.25mg Drops

Fluorometholone and tetrahydrozoline eye drops are used for inflamed, red eyes when a doctor decides a steroid is suitable.

• Fluorometholone is a corticosteroid. It reduces inflammation, swelling and irritation of the eyelid lining, the white of the eye and the front of the eye.
• Tetrahydrozoline is a decongestant. It narrows small blood vessels in the eye to reduce redness.

Because they contain a steroid, these drops should only be used on a doctor's prescription.

Use the drops exactly as your doctor tells you.

• Shake the bottle well before use.
• Wash your hands first. Do not let the tip touch your eye, eyelid or any surface.
• Remove contact lenses before use and wait at least 15 minutes before putting soft lenses back in.
• Keep the bottle tightly closed and do not share it.
• See your doctor if the eye is not better after 2 days, or gets worse.

Possible side effects include:

• burning or stinging when the drops go in
• eye irritation or blurred vision
• larger pupils for a short time
• more redness if the drops are overused

Stop using them and see a doctor straight away if you have:

• eye pain or changes in your vision
• a discharge, or signs of a new eye infection
• redness or irritation that does not get better or gets worse

Do not use them if you have a viral eye infection (such as herpes simplex), a fungal or mycobacterial eye infection, or an allergy to steroids or any ingredient.

Check with your doctor first if you:

• have glaucoma, including narrow-angle glaucoma
• have ever had a herpes eye infection
• have had cataract surgery recently
• are pregnant or breastfeeding
• want to use them for a child under 2

Store below 25°C, upright and protected from freezing. Keep out of the reach of children.

Long-term use: using steroid eye drops for a long time can raise eye pressure (glaucoma), damage the optic nerve, cause cataracts and make eye infections more likely. If you use them for 10 days or more, your eye pressure should be checked.

Steroid masking: they can hide or worsen an eye infection.

Driving: wait until your vision is clear.
