Triplixam 10/2.5/5mg Tablets

Perindopril arginine, indapamide and amlodipine is a three-in-one tablet for high blood pressure. It is used in adults already taking these medicines at the same strengths, so they can take one tablet instead of two or three.

• Perindopril is an ACE inhibitor. It widens blood vessels so the heart can pump blood more easily.
• Indapamide is a diuretic that makes the kidneys produce more urine.
• Amlodipine is a calcium-channel blocker that relaxes blood vessels.

Take it exactly as your doctor or pharmacist tells you, usually one tablet a day.

• Swallow it with a glass of water, preferably in the morning before a meal.
• Do not eat grapefruit or drink grapefruit juice.
• If you miss a dose, take the next one at the usual time. Never take two doses together.
• Treatment is usually long term. Talk to your doctor before stopping.

Common side effects include:

• swelling of the ankles or legs
• dizziness, headache, a spinning feeling or pins and needles
• a dry cough or shortness of breath
• flushing, a pounding heartbeat or ringing in the ears
• stomach upset, changes in taste, muscle cramps and tiredness
• low potassium in the blood

Stop taking it and get medical help straight away if you have:

• swelling of the face, lips, mouth, tongue or throat, wheezing or trouble breathing
• a severe rash with blistering or peeling skin
• severe dizziness or fainting
• chest pain or a very fast or irregular heartbeat
• severe tummy and back pain
• muscle pain or weakness with fever or feeling unwell
• eye pain or sudden changes in vision

Do not take it if you are more than 3 months pregnant, have had angioedema (sudden swelling of the face or throat), have severe liver or kidney disease, low potassium, very low blood pressure or untreated heart failure, or have taken sacubitril/valsartan.

Check with your doctor or pharmacist before taking it if you:

• have heart, liver or kidney problems, diabetes, gout or lupus
• are on dialysis, a low-salt diet or are dehydrated
• take lithium, potassium supplements or salt substitutes, spironolactone, trimethoprim, ARBs, aliskiren, gliptins for diabetes or medicines for mental health
• are having surgery, anaesthesia or allergy desensitisation treatment

No special temperature is needed. Keep in the original pack to protect from light and moisture, out of the sight and reach of children.

Pregnancy: it can seriously harm an unborn baby. Tell your doctor straight away if you are pregnant or planning a pregnancy. It is not recommended while breastfeeding.

Blood tests: your doctor may check your kidneys and blood salts such as potassium and sodium.

Driving: do not drive if you feel sick, dizzy, tired or have a headache.

Sport: indapamide can give a positive result in doping tests.
