Tamsolin-S Tablets 0.4/6mg Tablets

Solifenacin and tamsulosin is used in men with moderate to severe urinary symptoms caused by bladder problems together with an enlarged prostate (benign prostatic hyperplasia). It is usually given when a single medicine has not helped enough.

• Solifenacin (an anticholinergic) calms unwanted bladder squeezing, so the bladder can hold more and you can wait longer before going.
• Tamsulosin (an alpha-blocker) relaxes muscles in the prostate and bladder outlet so urine flows more easily.

Together they help with both the urge to go and difficulty passing urine.

Take it exactly as your doctor tells you, usually one tablet once a day.

• You can take it with or without food.
• Swallow the tablet whole; do not crush or chew it.
• If you miss a dose, take your next tablet at the usual time. Do not take a double dose.
• Do not stop taking it without talking to your doctor, as your symptoms may come back.
• Get up slowly from sitting or lying down, especially when you start.

Common side effects include:

• dry mouth, constipation or indigestion
• dizziness, blurred vision or tiredness
• less or no fluid when ejaculating (harmless)
• feeling sick or tummy pain

Stop taking it and get medical help straight away if you have:

• being unable to pass urine
• swelling of the face, lips, tongue or throat, or difficulty breathing or swallowing
• a severe rash with blistering or peeling skin
• a painful erection lasting several hours
• an irregular heartbeat

Check with your doctor or pharmacist before taking it if you:

• have trouble emptying your bladder, a blockage in your gut, or slow digestion
• have glaucoma, myasthenia gravis or a severe bowel condition
• faint or feel dizzy when standing up
• have kidney or liver disease, or are on dialysis
• have heartburn or a hiatus hernia
• take medicines such as ketoconazole, itraconazole, ritonavir, erythromycin, verapamil, diltiazem, other alpha-blockers or other anticholinergics
• are planning cataract or glaucoma surgery

This medicine is not for women or children.

No special storage conditions are needed. Keep out of the sight and reach of children.

Eye surgery: tell your eye surgeon you take, or have taken, this medicine before cataract or glaucoma surgery.

Low blood pressure: if you feel dizzy or faint, sit or lie down until it passes.

Driving: do not drive or use machines if you feel dizzy, sleepy or have blurred vision.
