Rocip Eye Drops 3/3mg Drops

Ciprofloxacin eye drops contain a quinolone antibiotic that kills bacteria. They are used to treat corneal ulcers (sores on the clear front of the eye) and other bacterial eye infections.

Use the drops exactly as your doctor tells you. For some infections they are used very often at first, including at night.

• Wash your hands, tilt your head back, pull down the lower eyelid and squeeze in one drop at a time.
• Do not let the tip touch your eye or anything else.
• Leave at least 5 minutes between different eye medicines, and use ointments last.
• Remove soft contact lenses before use and wait 15 minutes before putting them back.
• Finish the course, even if your eye looks better. If you miss a dose, use it at the next time. Do not double up.

Common side effects include:

• stinging, burning, grittiness or redness of the eye
• white deposits on the eye (keep using the drops but tell your doctor)
• a bad taste in the mouth

Stop using the drops and get medical help straight away if you have:

• a rash, hives, itching or breathing problems
• pain, swelling or inflammation of the eye after using them
• pain or swelling in a tendon or joint

Do not use them if you are allergic to ciprofloxacin or another quinolone antibiotic.

Check with your doctor first if you:

• are elderly or take steroid medicines (higher tendon risk)
• have dry eyes or a corneal problem
• are using the drops for a baby under 1 year

Store below 25°C, do not refrigerate or freeze, keep tightly closed and out of the reach of children. Throw the bottle away 28 days after first opening.

Long use: using it for a long time may allow other infections to grow. Tell your doctor if symptoms get worse or come back.

Driving: do not drive or use machines until any blurred vision clears.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding: talk to your doctor before use.
