Orlirise 120mg Capsules

Orlistat helps with weight loss in people who are obese or overweight with a weight-related health problem. It stops your gut from absorbing about a third of the fat in your food, which then passes out in your poo.

It is used together with a healthy, calorie-controlled diet and more physical activity.

Take it exactly as your doctor or pharmacist tells you.

• Swallow a capsule with water just before, during or up to 1 hour after each main meal.
• If you skip a meal or the meal has no fat, skip that capsule.
• Eat a balanced diet. Avoid very fatty meals, as these make gut side effects worse.
• Take a multivitamin with vitamins A, D, E and K at bedtime, or at least 2 hours apart from orlistat.
• If you miss a dose and it is more than 1 hour since your meal, skip it. Never take 2 doses together.
• If you have not lost 5% of your weight after 3 months, your doctor may review treatment.

Common side effects include:

• oily or fatty poo, or oily spotting
• needing to poo urgently or more often
• wind
• stomach pain or diarrhoea

Get medical help straight away if you have:

• severe tummy or back pain that does not go away
• bleeding from your bottom
• yellow skin or eyes, dark pee, pale poo or pain in the upper right tummy
• pain when peeing, blood in your pee, or severe back or side pain
• swelling of the face or throat, rash or trouble breathing

Do not take it if you have cholestasis (a liver condition) or a condition where your gut does not absorb food properly.

Check with your doctor or pharmacist before taking it if you:

• have kidney disease, kidney stones, liver, gallbladder or pancreas problems
• have diabetes, a thyroid problem or an eating disorder
• take levothyroxine (take it 4 hours apart), ciclosporin (take it at least 3 hours after orlistat), warfarin, amiodarone, HIV medicines, or medicines for depression or anxiety

Keep in the original container, tightly closed, at room temperature away from heat, moisture and light, and out of reach of children.

Contraceptive pill: severe diarrhoea, or diarrhoea lasting more than 24 hours, can stop the pill working. Use condoms as well.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding: do not use it if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

Only buy weight-loss medicines from a registered pharmacy, as fake products are sold online.
