Dysoprin Tablets 10mg Tablets

Cyclobenzaprine is a skeletal muscle relaxant. It works on the brain and nervous system to relax tight, painful muscles.

It is used to relieve muscle spasms.

Take it exactly as your doctor or pharmacist tells you.

• You can take it with or without food.
• Swallow extended-release capsules whole. If you cannot, ask your pharmacist about mixing the contents with applesauce.
• Do not take it for longer than 3 weeks unless your doctor says so.
• If you miss a dose, take it when you remember unless the next dose is nearly due; then skip it. Never take a double dose.

Common side effects include:

• drowsiness or extreme tiredness
• dry mouth
• dizziness
• nausea, constipation or heartburn

Get medical help straight away if you have:

• rash, hives, swelling of the face or tongue, or trouble breathing or swallowing
• a fast or irregular heartbeat or chest pain
• agitation, confusion, hallucinations, fever, sweating, shivering, severe muscle stiffness or twitching, or loss of coordination

Check with your doctor or pharmacist before taking it if you:

• have taken an MAOI medicine (such as phenelzine, selegiline or rasagiline) in the last 2 weeks
• take any other medicines, as some must not be combined with it
• have had a recent heart attack, or have heart failure, heart block or an irregular heartbeat
• have an overactive thyroid
• have glaucoma or trouble passing urine
• have liver disease
• are 65 or older
• are pregnant, planning a pregnancy or breastfeeding

Keep in the original, tightly closed container at room temperature, away from heat and moisture (not in the bathroom). Protect extended-release capsules from light. Keep out of the reach of children.

Drowsiness: do not drive or use machines until you know how it affects you.

Alcohol: it can make the effects of alcohol stronger. Ask your doctor about drinking while taking it.

Older adults: it is generally not the first choice for people aged 65 and over.

Pregnancy: call your doctor if you become pregnant while taking it.
