Deep relief gel 50/30mg Gel

Ibuprofen and levomenthol gel is rubbed onto the skin for short-term relief of pain and swelling after minor injuries, such as sprains, bruises and sports injuries.

• Ibuprofen is an anti-inflammatory painkiller (NSAID) that reduces pain and swelling.
• Levomenthol gives a cooling effect that helps soothe pain in muscles, tendons and joints.

Use it as your doctor or pharmacist tells you, or as the leaflet says. It is for use on the skin only.

• Apply a thin layer over the painful area and massage gently until it is absorbed.
• Leave at least 4 hours between applications, and do not use it more often than the leaflet allows.
• Wash your hands after use, unless your hands are being treated.
• Use it on healthy, unbroken skin only. Do not cover it with an airtight or waterproof dressing.
• Do not use another product on the same area at the same time.
• See a doctor if your symptoms get worse or have not improved after a few days.

Side effects on the skin can include redness, itching, dryness or a burning feeling where the gel is applied.

Stop using it and get medical help straight away if you have:

• a widespread rash, hives, small red or purple spots, or peeling skin
• wheezing, trouble breathing or an asthma attack
• sudden swelling of the face, lips or throat

Do not use it if you:

• are allergic to ibuprofen, levomenthol or any ingredient in the gel
• have ever had asthma or an allergic reaction after taking ibuprofen, aspirin or another NSAID
• would be putting it on broken, infected, weeping or burnt skin, or on eczema

Check with your doctor or pharmacist first if you have kidney disease or a stomach ulcer, or if you take other medicines. Keep it away from your eyes, mouth, nose and genitals. It is not meant for children; check the age limit on the pack.

Store at or below 25°C and keep out of the sight and reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date.

Pregnancy: do not use it from the sixth month of pregnancy, as it could seriously harm the baby even after one application. Earlier in pregnancy, use it only if your doctor says it is needed.

Breastfeeding: avoid it, as NSAIDs pass into breast milk.

Amount used: using large amounts over large areas or for a long time raises the chance of side effects in the stomach or kidneys.
