Astadol Tablet 325mg Tablets

Paracetamol is a painkiller used for everyday aches and pains such as headache, toothache, period pain and sore throat. It also lowers a high temperature (fever), for example with colds and flu.

Take it as your doctor or pharmacist tells you, or as the pack says.

• You can take it with or without food.
• Leave at least 4 hours between doses and never take more than the maximum in 24 hours shown on the pack.
• Do not take it with other medicines that contain paracetamol, such as some cold and flu remedies.
• Do not use it for more than 3 days without talking to a doctor.
• If you weigh less than 50 kg, ask a pharmacist, as you may need a lower dose.

Side effects are rare when paracetamol is taken correctly.

Get medical help straight away if you have:

• swelling of the lips, tongue or throat, an itchy raised rash or trouble breathing
• yellow skin or eyes, or feeling sick for no clear reason
• unusual bruising or nosebleeds

Check with your doctor or pharmacist before taking it if you:

• have liver or kidney problems
• regularly drink a lot of alcohol
• weigh less than 50 kg
• have had an allergic reaction to paracetamol
• take warfarin, or medicines such as metoclopramide, domperidone or flucloxacillin

Store as directed on the pack and keep out of the sight and reach of children.

Overdose: taking too much paracetamol can seriously damage the liver, even if you feel well at first. Get urgent medical help if you have taken more than the pack says.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding: paracetamol is usually the first-choice painkiller, but use the lowest dose for the shortest time.
