Viophos-B Elixir 3/6/1.8/45/69/81.9/8.5/5mg Syrup

Riboflavin, pyridoxine (vitamin B6), nicotinamide and panthenol are B vitamins. This syrup also contains glycerophosphates (sources of phosphorus with calcium, sodium and potassium) and manganese.

• B vitamins help the body release energy from food and keep the skin, eyes and nervous system healthy. Vitamin B6 also helps make red blood cells.
• Phosphorus helps build bones and teeth and release energy from food.
• Manganese helps make and activate enzymes.

Most people get enough of these from a varied, balanced diet. A supplement may help when the diet is poor.

Take it as your doctor or pharmacist tells you, or as the label says.

• Measure each dose with the measuring cup or spoon provided.
• Do not take more than the recommended amount.
• If you take other vitamin or mineral products, check with your pharmacist so you do not take too much of the same vitamin.

At normal doses, side effects are uncommon. Too much of some ingredients can cause problems:

• diarrhoea or stomach pain
• feeling sick

See a doctor if you have:

• numbness or loss of feeling in the arms or legs (can happen with high doses of vitamin B6 taken for a long time)
• muscle pain, unusual tiredness or low mood with long-term use
• signs of an allergic reaction, such as rash, swelling or trouble breathing

Check with your doctor or pharmacist before taking it if you:

• are older, as older people may be more sensitive to manganese and potassium
• have kidney problems
• already take vitamin B6, manganese or potassium supplements
• are pregnant or breastfeeding

Store as the label says. Keep out of the reach of children.

Vitamin B6: the NHS advises not taking more than 10 mg a day of vitamin B6 from supplements unless a doctor advises it. Very high doses over a long time can damage nerves.

Potassium: older people should not take potassium supplements unless a doctor advises it.

A supplement does not replace a balanced diet.
