Panadol CF Day Tablet 500/5mg Tablets

Paracetamol and phenylephrine hydrochloride are combined to relieve cold and flu symptoms.

• Paracetamol is a painkiller that eases aches, headache and sore throat, and lowers a high temperature.
• Phenylephrine is a decongestant. It reduces swelling inside the nose, easing a blocked nose and sinus pressure.

Take it as the label, your doctor or pharmacist tells you.

• Leave at least 4 hours between doses and never take more than the maximum on the pack in 24 hours.
• Do not take any other medicine that contains paracetamol, or another decongestant, at the same time.
• Drink plenty of fluids.
• If you forget a dose, take it when you remember and wait at least 4 hours before the next. Do not double up.
• See a pharmacist or doctor if symptoms last more than 5 days or get worse.

Side effects are uncommon but can include:

• headache, raised blood pressure or a pounding heartbeat
• feeling or being sick, or stomach discomfort
• difficulty peeing, especially in men

Stop taking it and get medical help straight away if you have:

• a red, blistering or peeling skin rash
• signs of an allergic reaction
• unusual bruising, bleeding or frequent infections
• fast, deep breathing with drowsiness and sickness

Do not take it if you have high blood pressure, a serious heart condition, an overactive thyroid, diabetes, closed-angle glaucoma, an enlarged prostate or phaeochromocytoma, or have taken an MAOI antidepressant in the last 14 days.

Check with a pharmacist or doctor first if you:

• have liver or kidney problems, or Raynaud's
• take blood pressure medicines, beta-blockers, tricyclic antidepressants, digoxin, warfarin, flucloxacillin, epilepsy medicines or migraine medicines (ergotamine)

Store below 25°C in the original pack, out of the sight and reach of children.

Overdose: taking too much paracetamol can cause delayed, serious liver damage. Get medical help at once, even if you feel well.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding: ask a doctor or pharmacist before use. Do not use it if you have had pre-eclampsia.

Children: check the pack for the minimum age, and ask a pharmacist before giving it to a child.
